About this product
Chopped Strand Fibreglass Mat 450gsm is a versatile reinforcement material used in fibreglass laminating and composite fabrication. The mat is made from randomly oriented chopped glass fibres bonded together with a resin soluble binder, allowing it to easily conform to curved surfaces and complex mould shapes during lay up.
The 450gsm weight provides a balance between flexibility and structural strength, making it one of the most commonly used reinforcement mats in fibreglass manufacturing and repair work. When saturated with polyester or vinyl ester resin, the fibres form a strong laminate layer that improves durability and overall structural integrity.
Supplied in a convenient 1 metre pack, chopped strand matting is widely used in boat building, automotive fibreglass repairs and general composite fabrication.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Cut the chopped strand mat to the required size and position it onto the prepared mould or surface. Apply resin evenly until the fibres are fully saturated and use a laminating roller to remove trapped air and consolidate the laminate.
