Catalysts and hardeners

Catalysts are used to initiate the curing process in resin systems such as polyester and vinyl ester resins. When mixed at the correct ratio, the catalyst triggers a chemical reaction that hardens the resin into a durable composite structure.

MEKP catalyst is commonly used to cure polyester and vinyl ester resins. It is widely used in fibreglass laminating, marine repairs, mould production and composite fabrication.

Catalysts are typically used with polyester and vinyl ester resins, while hardeners are used with epoxy resin systems. Both serve the purpose of initiating the curing reaction that allows the resin to harden.

The catalyst ratio depends on the resin formulation and manufacturer recommendations. The correct ratio should always be followed according to the product technical data sheet to ensure proper curing and performance.
