Fillers and additives

Q-Cell, talc and additives to tune viscosity and finish.

Common questions

What are fibreglass fillers used for?
Fibreglass fillers are added to resin systems to modify thickness, improve sanding properties or create lightweight fairing compounds. They are commonly used in composite repairs and surface finishing.
What is Q Cell used for in fibreglass?
Q Cell is a lightweight microsphere filler used to create fairing compounds and lightweight filler mixtures. It reduces the density of resin mixtures and improves sanding performance.
What is wax in styrene used for?
Wax in styrene is added to polyester or vinyl ester resin systems to create a surface sealing effect during curing. This allows the resin to fully cure and produce a hard, non tacky finish.
Can fillers be used with epoxy and polyester resin?
Many fillers such as talc, calcium carbonate and microsphere fillers can be used with both epoxy and polyester resin systems to modify viscosity and mechanical properties.
