Overview

About this product

High Strength Fibreglass Reinforced Structural Panel

Coosa Bluewater 26 Composite Board is a high density structural composite panel manufactured from closed cell polyurethane foam reinforced with fibreglass. Designed as a high performance replacement for marine plywood, Bluewater 26 delivers exceptional stiffness, durability and strength while remaining significantly lighter than traditional timber panels.

The fibreglass reinforced composite structure provides excellent resistance to moisture, rot, chemicals and mold, making Bluewater 26 ideal for demanding marine and structural applications. The closed cell core absorbs minimal water and maintains dimensional stability even in harsh environments.

With its high density construction and superior mechanical properties, Bluewater 26 is commonly used in structural marine components where higher compressive strength and stiffness are required compared with lighter composite panels.

Key Features & Benefits

High Density Structural Composite
Bluewater 26 offers increased density and stiffness compared with lower density composite panels, making it suitable for demanding structural applications.

Fibreglass Reinforced Strength
Continuous strand fibreglass reinforcement provides excellent flexural strength and structural performance.

Lightweight Alternative to Marine Plywood
Composite construction reduces weight while maintaining structural performance.

Rot Proof and Moisture Resistant
Closed cell polyurethane foam prevents water absorption, eliminating rot and swelling associated with timber panels.

Excellent Strength to Weight Ratio
Provides structural performance while reducing overall weight in marine and transport applications.

Dimensionally Stable
Resists warping, shrinkage and expansion caused by moisture and temperature changes.

Easy to Machine
Panels can be cut, drilled and shaped using standard woodworking tools or CNC equipment.

Common Applications

  • Boat transoms
  • Structural bulkheads
  • Stringers
  • Deck cores
  • Hatch lids
  • Marine cabinetry
  • Transport flooring
  • Industrial structural panels
  • Composite fabrication components
  • Custom CNC machined parts

Bluewater 26 is commonly selected for structural marine components where higher strength is required compared with lower density composite boards.

How It Compares to Marine Plywood

Feature Coosa Bluewater 26 Marine Plywood
Rot resistance Yes No
Water absorption Very low High
Weight Significantly lighter Heavy
Mold resistance Yes No
Structural strength High Moderate

Composite panels such as Bluewater 26 are engineered to deliver higher durability and dimensional stability compared with timber based materials.

CNC Cutting Available

Iron Link Distributors can supply Coosa Bluewater composite panels with precision CNC machining. Customers can provide CAD drawings or templates for custom machined composite components.

CNC machining allows accurate fabrication of structural composite parts, reducing installation time and material waste.
