Modelling Clay is a non hardening sculpting clay used in fibreglass mould making, composite fabrication and pattern building. It is commonly used to seal mould edges, create fillets and form temporary shapes during mould preparation and composite layup. The clay remains flexible and workable, allowing easy shaping, repositioning and removal without curing or hardening.
Modelling clay is widely used in fibreglass mould production, composite tooling and repair work where temporary shaping or sealing is required before laminating.
KEY FEATURES:
- Non hardening clay that remains flexible and reusable
- Easy to shape and sculpt for mould preparation
- Ideal for sealing mould edges and creating fillets
- Does not cure or permanently bond to surfaces
- Suitable for composite mould making and pattern work
COMMON APPLICATIONS:
- Fibreglass mould preparation
- Creating fillets and sealing mould joins
- Pattern building and composite tooling
- Temporary shaping during laminating work
- Marine, automotive and industrial composite fabrication
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
Use clean tools and surfaces when shaping modelling clay to avoid contamination of mould surfaces. Ensure clay residue is removed before applying resins or gelcoat during composite fabrication.
