Peel Ply Red Stripe is a nylon release fabric used in fibreglass laminating and composite fabrication. It is applied over wet laminate during layup and removed after curing to leave a clean, textured surface ready for secondary bonding or finishing.
The peel ply prevents contamination of the laminate surface and eliminates the need for sanding between laminate layers in many applications. Once the resin has cured, the fabric can be peeled away easily, exposing a prepared surface suitable for additional laminating or bonding.
Peel ply is widely used in composite manufacturing, marine fabrication and fibreglass repairs where consistent laminate surface preparation is required.
KEY FEATURES:
- Nylon peel ply fabric for composite laminating
- Creates a clean textured surface after removal
- Red stripe identification for easy orientation
- Reduces or eliminates sanding between laminating stages
- Suitable for polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy resin systems
COMMON APPLICATIONS:
- Fibreglass laminating and composite fabrication
- Secondary bonding preparation
- Marine construction and boat repairs
- Composite moulding applications
- Industrial composite manufacturing
Sold in 1 metre lengths from a 1.27m wide roll
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Apply peel ply directly over the wet laminate after resin and reinforcement have been laid up. Smooth the fabric over the surface ensuring full contact with the laminate. After the resin has cured, peel the fabric away to expose a prepared bonding surface.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when working with fibreglass materials and resin systems. Dispose of used peel ply after removal.
