Styrene Monomer

Styrene Monomer is a reactive solvent used to adjust the viscosity of polyester and vinyl ester resin systems. It is commonly added to polyester resin, gelcoat and flowcoat to improve sprayability and flow characteristics during fibreglass fabrication and repair work. Styrene monomer helps reduce resin thickness, allowing easier application when spraying gelcoats or laminating resins while maintaining compatibility with standard composite systems.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Add styrene monomer to polyester resin, gelcoat or flowcoat formulations to adjust viscosity. Typical addition rates are up to 10 percent depending on application requirements. Always add gradually and mix thoroughly to achieve the desired spray or application consistency.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
Do not mix styrene monomer directly with MEKP catalyst. Always wear appropriate protective equipment including gloves and eye protection when handling styrene or fibreglass materials. Use only in well ventilated areas.
